Renowned fashion designer Lisa Barron is vice-president of Treasure Chest, which aims to improve the lives of women with breast cancer. The charity will hold its 10th Men with Breast Intentions Ball on May 27. “Fashion is my life but I have always felt the need to give my time and effort for others,” Lisa says. She has lived and worked in Armadale for more than a decade and loves the heart and soul of its small businesses.

Where do you go for a great cup of coffee? Coffee and a bear claw are a regular breakfast grab at Phillippa’s Bakery. The friendly familiarity and the consistent quality is the reason for a constant stream of customers.

FullSizeRender.jpgFor a fantastic lunch? Mossgreen Tearooms is a great girls’ lunch place in the old Sotheby’s building. It has a tranquil and creative atmosphere.

For some me time? I’ll get some hair time at Toni & Guy. I love the crew in this salon – they are talented, welcoming and hard-working. To finish off a look for a special event, I always go into Mecca Cosmetica. I am in awe of the amazing business Jo Horgan has created.

For a head-turning outfit? The Lisa Barron store, of course. My customers are very much the focus of my design. They are women who like an original garment, appreciate fabric quality and the limited-edition, Australian-made ethos.

For an interesting bottle of wine?

Armadale Cellars has a great selection from lesser-known wineries and a wonderful champagne range.

I also can’t talk about wine without mentioning my favourite Robert Oatley chardonnay – delicious.
